Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions company Airbility (Co-CEOs Jinmo Lee and Taekyu Ryu) announced on the 22nd that it has successfully secured 2.5 billion KRW (approximately 1.9 million USD) in Pre-Series A funding, bringing its total investment to 3.7 billion KRW (approximately 2.8 million USD).

This funding round includes a new investment from Samho Green Investment, along with follow-on investments from Base Ventures, Stonebridge Ventures, and Mashup Ventures. The latest investment will strengthen Airbility’s foundation for technology commercialization and global market expansion. Notably, the active participation of early seed investors in this follow-on round highlights their strong confidence in Airbility’s advanced technology and market potential.

Airbility plans to use the newly acquired funds to expand and refine its business operations, including recruiting talent for the development of its fixed-wing-based eVTOL technology and distributed electric fanjet propulsion system.

Beyond private investment, Airbility has also seen continued success in government support programs. The company was recently selected for the “Super-Gap Startup 1000+ Project” by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as the DeepTech TIPS program, securing additional funding and support for R&D and technology advancement. Additionally, Airbility has received prestigious startup awards, including the Grand Prize at the Gyeonggi Startup Competition and the Excellence Award at Challenge! K-Startup 2024, further cementing its position as a leading innovator in both domestic and international startup ecosystems.

Jinmo Lee, CEO of Airbility, stated,
“This Pre-Series A funding is a crucial milestone that lays the groundwork for technology commercialization and global expansion. Through sustainable future mobility solutions, we aim to create new value in the global AAM market.”

Meanwhile, Airbility recently released its vision video, “Above and Boundless,” which showcases the company’s two core values: humanitarian missions and the freedom of movement. The video is available on Airbility’s official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@AIRBILITYinc.

Looking ahead, Airbility will participate in Drone Show Korea 2025 in February, held in Busan, where it will unveil the full-scale prototype of its 3-meter-class UAV, AB-0, showcasing its latest R&D achievements.
